Community colleges are critical facilitators of global learning experiences for their students. This project identified characteristics of community colleges, including curricular focus, institutional finances, and enrollment, that were more or less likely to engage in various approaches to international education. We focused our attention on five international education activities represented in our Mapping Community College International Education dataset: study abroad, international student enrollment, virtual international exchange, certificate or diploma program(s) related to global learning, and on-campus internationally focused events and student organizations.
