Community College International Education: Stratified Access to Global Learning Opportunities counters the marginalization of community colleges in U.S. international higher education through a comprehensive account of global learning opportunities available in this sector. This study uses institutional stratification theory to explore institutional characteristics and student demographics associated with the provision of various international opportunities.
Virtual Exchange Program Characteristics and Student Outcomes in the Community College Context interrogates mixed evidence regarding student outcomes that result from virtual international exchange programs. This study focuses on how variations in virtual exchange program design inform participants’ foundational knowledge about other cultures in a global context and their intercultural sensitivity in communication.
International Student Support and Services at U.S. Community Colleges provides an analysis of institutional webpages that describe resources for international students. Prior research underscores the importance of these supports and services for international student success. This study has implications for international student rights, particularly in the current U.S. political context.
